We have had to postpone our cruising at the end of February 2022.

Shane has developed a cancerous lump on his neck which needs surgery.  Bureaucracy within the NHS made it impossible to get treatment in Burton-on-Trent where the initial diagnosis was made.  So we have returned to our flat in Edinburgh.  Surgery is scheduled for the end of April.

Bartimaeus is berthed in Mercia Marina (near Derby) until we are ready to resume cruising.

We have had a wealth of offers of help, including places to stay in Edinburgh until out flat was available, for which we are extremely grateful.  We are also mightily impressed by, and grateful to, all the NHS staff who have helped us so far.

Although we have been blogging about minor details of our life on board, we will not be updating these pages as frequently while we are in Edinburgh.
