Through a couple of locks and I was driving up the River Severn, very pretty and quiet, as there were not a lot of boats, but we were far from alone. It was indeed a thirsty day.
Also saw people who had hired a boat to take them to scatter ashes. I don’t think I have seen a funeral from a boat before, but have now moored up next to a graveyard so seems to be a theme for the day. Mind you we also passed a fairground and had ice-cream at Stourport, so it has been much more summery than sombre.
