A fine morning. Glad it wasn’t raining when searching for a water point was urgently required. One of the water points on Shane’s map didn’t seem to exist any more. Anyway we hand plenty juice and hand sanitizer so were okay.
Passed thirsty cows – I am not tempted by the canal water.. non potable in my book – and just missed getting a picture of this one eating the tree above. I wouldn’t be tempted by that either, leaves looked quite coarse.
Some pretty sights including a few more Muscovy ducks and very tiny fluffy cygnets… Just along from a swan nest with an egg in it. Much later there was a much more grown up swan family, all full feathered… Seven cygnets swimming.
There were quite a few spread out locks giving me the chance to try out my new toy of a ratcheted windlass that Shane had ordered for my birthday from GoWindlass.co.uk. Getting to grips with all its features for different situations. It’s a definite improvement and was as much a talking point with others as Bartimaeus today!
Shane got a shottie at the end of the day, and found de-caff coffee so he’s happy, and we found Staffordshire oatcakes (look like pancakes) so will try those tomorrow.
