This was the year we were going to Yorkshire. Extremely wet weather put us off starting early, and there were further delays waiting for improvement works. We were still a long way south in June.
Before tackling the tidal sections of the Trent, we dealt with diesel bug. Between exciting tidal river sections we had a very relaxing time on the sleepy Chesterfield Canal with a number of visitors joining us.
We had to chose between flooded rivers and high tides in the Vale of York.
We crossed the Pennines via the longest, highest and deepest canal tunnel at Standedge.
