Nesting

Several people have asked to hear about the wren’s nest. When on dry dock, a wren made its nest and eggs in it on the bow locker. We have never seen the birds though did receive photos of the nest early on, in situ, included in my first post.

After removal, to fit a bow thruster, the nest was stored for us, so we could see it close up and here it is. An intricate bit of building (in a larger space then usual I expect) with large twigs on the outside and moss in the middle.

Apart from being a response for info, it’s an appropriate topic for today as we have been staying in the boat and “nesting” rather than traveling. A bit of sorting, fixing and working out how things work, watching the fish and butterflies …and avoiding sunburn.

Probably travel tomorrow.
