Bryter Layter

The day began again with more extremely heavy rain.  We sat that out and I experimented further with displaying our track on the Where is Bartimaeus page. We walked in to Marple for a bit of sight-seeing, shopping and coffee.  The woman in the health food shop asked us if we knew what we wanted.  We didn’t, but we came out with a bagful anyway.

In the afternoon we moved along to the water point and filled up.  We then moored on the other side of the junction. Getting the boat to the edge of the canal was equally troublesome.  Getting on and off requires a little effort.  The views from this mooring are much better as we can see out over the Cheshire Plain.

Later on we joined Nye and David for another stroll around the town.  We brought fish suppers back to Bartimaeus.

While we ate, I was continually distracted by the changing sky and its reflection in the canal.

After sunset Nye and David headed home.  The plan is for them to join us tomorrow morning as we head off down the sixteen locks of the Marple Flight.
